The School of Law Program and Faculty
The UC Davis School of Law is one of four law schools in the University of California system and is a premier institution for legal education. It has an outstanding faculty, renowned for its teaching and scholarly abilities and a reputation for training exceptional lawyers in a highly supportive learning atmosphere.
While the law school favors a generalist rather than a specialist curriculum, it offers students some of the leading legal thinkers in specialized fields. Faculty members have shaped the law in such areas as scientific evidence, partnership law, conflict of laws, nonmarital cohabitation and criminal sentencing. They have also helped to shape environmental law in Washington, D.C., constitutions in Eastern Europe, commercial law in China, and arbitration and alternative dispute resolutions in Indonesia.
Instructors for the Orientation in U.S.A. Law, Global Trading, Financing International Transactions, and Structuring an International Joint Venture programs are drawn from School of Law faculty at both the University of California at Davis and University of California at Berkeley. Instructors also include outstanding legal practitioners and business experts representing major California firms that perform international legal work.
